పశుపతినాథ ఆలయంలో జరిగిన అభిషేకం ప్రార్థన గురించి నా అవగాహనను పూర్తిగా మార్చివేసింది. లింగం నిండుగా తీర్థం కలిసిన క్షీరం మరియు గంగా జలంలో నిమజ్జితమైనప్పుడు, చీకటిలో పూజారుల జపాలు ఆకాశానికి చేరుతూ — దీనికి మార్పణకు తప్ప మరే పదం లేదు.
2018 వరదలలో నా తండ్రిని కోల్పోయాను. మూడు నెలల తర్వాత నేను మొదటిసారి పశుపతినాథ ఆలయానికి వచ్చాను. ఆ పురాతన గర్భగృహంలో శివ ప్రభువు సమక్షంలో నిలిచినప్పుడు, నా తండ్రి చివరకు సురక్షితమైన తీరాలకు చేరుకున్నాడని నేను అనుభవించాను.
ఇక్కడ మహాశివరాత్రి నేను ప్రయాణించిన ఇతర ఎక్కడైనా వేర్వేరుగా ఉంటుంది. రాత్రిభर గంటలు ఆగవు, జపాలు ఆగవు. తెల్లవారుజాలకంగా, నీవు అలసిపోయినట్లు అనిపించదు — నీవు సంవత్సరాల తర్వాత మొదటిసారి మేల్కొన్నట్లు అనిపిస్తుంది.
